And idc how absolutely toxic it was but I loved every minute of it and now that I'm done and I don't have any other books of this series to read I'm gna cry bec this book series is the highlight of my year. I enjoyed the sex tape plot and I enjoyed the few scenes with the Box Set which were not solely focused on Magnolia.
considering that my rating on daisy haites 1 was 5/5, one would think i went mad rating this new book THIS low and all i have to say for myself is that 1 star is for Daisy and Christian (not even their scenes could save this book i am sobbing) and one is for Jonah (love of my life i love you). I know he didn't because it's going to be a plot point in Magnolia 3 and Daisy 3, but GOD she deserved to know what was at stake. And he is so used to taking care of Daisy that he kind of put Magnolia in that place of someone to take care of. I liked that she made friends with women (Taura and Magnolia) but again, Taura was her first female friend but we got NOTHING about them but Magnolia filled all of Daisy‘s chapters.
magnolia was somewhat likable in the end, but she’s still the absolute bane of my existence, i just liked her because she helped daisy a lot.
you’re gonna spend much of your reading time wondering why he’s suddenly so in love with this childish human being clearly stuck in another relationship with another idiot. I know you don't care about Daisy but this is your career and you cannot afford the unprofessionalism. That scene where she interrupted the gang meeting was the most second hand embarrassment I've gotten from a character in a LONG time. My heart absolutely breaks for her and I hate that we never seem to dive as deep into her trauma as we do with other characters.
he's the loser of the group, the spare Ballentine brother that we don't really need and she can't make a choice and stand by it for the life of her.
it’s simple because they both love each other more than they love anything else, but complicated because they are who they are.She doesn't even know what he really does with his life, like how can you love someone that much when she doesn't even know the real you. Anyway, some parts of this book felt like a different Daisy than from book 1, especially when it came to the Tiller relationship. I cannot stress enough how I wish he would just drop everything and change life somewhere else so that not one of his stupid “friends” could ever find him because they all make his life as miserable as possible. Julian's character was done the biggest disservice in this book and it just wasn't believable at all. i want him and Daisy to run away from Julian and the full box set (nobody in that friend group has ever defended him.
